Airbus to Invest £150 Million in Former A380 Wing Production Facility

Airbus will invest £150 million in the section of its Broughton, Wales facility where A380 wings were previously manufactured. The renovated production area will be used for wing production for the Airbus A321neo family.

As part of the facility’s transformation, production of the first A321neo wing has begun. The modernisation is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, bringing six wing assembly stations, new production equipment and a paint area into operation. The investment will create around 480 new jobs.

Airbus aims to raise the A320neo family production rate to 70–75 aircraft per month by the end of 2027. A321 models account for 70 percent of the company’s A320 family orders, which total approximately 7,500 aircraft.
